Ezekiel
47:12
- And on the banks, on both sides of the river, there will grow
all kinds of trees for food. Their leaves will not wither, nor
their fruit fail, but they will bear fresh fruit every month,
because the water for them flows from the sanctuary. Their fruit
will be for food, and their leaves for healing."Tradition
states that this is referring to the olive tree.
Olive
Leaf Extract -
There have been many studies that have laid claim that olive leaf
extract can be used for the following: Preventing and curing cancer,
lowering blood pressure, reducing inflammation, fighting osteoporosis,
anti-viral and anti-bacterial properties, antioxidant, bad cholesterol
buildup reduction, immune system strengthening, preventing viruses,
and for fighting against bacteria and fungus infections. Besides
as being used as medicine in many countries over the years for
these same claims with reported healing. Let us look at where
some of these recent claims come from.
Russel L. Blaylock, M.D., in his book, "Natural Strategies
for Cancer Patients" the doctor covers how and why he feels
that olive leaf extract can improve the white blood cells capability
to kill cancer cells and help in the process of their elimination
of the body. He also covers the broad-spectrum germ destroying
ability and its ability to disable viruses, fungi and rickettsia.
Michael J. Gonzalez D.Sc., Ph.D., in his book, "I Have Cancer:
What Should I Do?: Your Orthomolecular Guide for Cancer Management."
Dr. Gonzalez covers on how the "T" cells fight viruses,
bacteria and cancer and how these "T" cells are strengthened
by olive leaf extract. He also shares his belief on how olive
leaf extract can help the body in detoxification and decreasing
the risk for developing cancer.
University of Balamand, Lebanon with their researchers at the
Department of Biology had reported anti-leukemia effects of olive
leaf extract. In the March 2011 issue of the journal "Plant
Foods in Human Nutrition" they described in the culture study,
leukemia was inhibited by inducing apoptosis, a programmedcell
death in the cancer cells a situation caused from olive leaf extract.
In the journal "Food and Chemical Toxicology" published
January 2011, they reported an extract from olive leaf that was
called hydroxytyrosol had arrested growth in a tissue culture
of human breast cancer cells at an early stage in the growth cycle.
In the issue of the "International Journal of Cancer"
published April 2011, reported that in the tissue culture study,
strong anti-cancer activity against melanoma was caused by olive
leaf extract and when used in combination of conventional cancer
drugs there was anincreased in the inhibitory effects.
James R. Privitera, MD., describes the olive leaf as being able
to have an ability to interfere with critical amino acid production
essential for viruses. He covers on how the viral infection and
spread is controlled by how the olive leaf can cause the inactivating
viruses or by preventing virus shedding, budding or at the cell
membrane. In addition, Dr. Privitera expressed olive leaf extract
has the ability to directly penetrate infected cells and stop
viral infection. Also, he explains on how olive leaf extract can
stimulate a process called phagocytosis, an immune system response
as to where the cells ingest harmful microorganisms and foreign
matter. University of Indonesia, Department of Internal Medicine,
Nephrology & Hypertension Division, Faculty of Medicine, Dr.
CiptoMangunkusumo reported their study on the effects of olive
leaf extract on hypertension.
The report can be found in the, US National Library of Medicine
National Institutes of Health. A double blind, randomized, parallel
and active-controlled clinical study was conducted to evaluate
olive leaf extract in comparison with Captopril in patients with
stage-1 hypertension and their anti-hypertensive effect. The conclusion
of the study showed that not only did the olive leaf extract was
closely similarly effective in lowering the overall blood pressure
as Captopril, but olive leaf extract significantly reduced the
triglyceride level, whereas not with the Captopril.
This had been just a sample of the reports that have been given
about the effectiveness of olive leaf extract. Thank you, God
Bless you! Chaplain Carl
